Background:
The British Red Cross was founded in 1870 and provided humanitarian services during the Franco-Prussian War. During the World Wars, the Red Cross was active in Hertfordshire providing nurses, hospitals, courses and supporting refugees, evacuees, the wounded and homeless. The British Red Cross operates under a Royal Charter granted in 1997.
HCNS engagement:
The British Red Cross hosts the HCNS Project Manager and other key staff, and is engaged across all HCNS activities and particularly in relation to hospital discharge, support for refugees (from Ukraine and Afghanistan), and support for veterans.
